about
Bronx Zoo
Ernie was a Silverback gorilla who lived in the Bronx Zoo. He died of a broken heart in 2019, and who could blame him.
We’re now left with only the memory of Ernie, staring back at onlookers, through the bars, through real and imaginary gates of power and progress. Then one day he was gone.
Another day, maybe soon, his animal comrades, the birds, and the bees, will join him.
It’s green mile style
Just here for a while
They bake big cakes
But there’s no file
I could cry all day
But no I feel just fine
Just look at me smiling
Nope, I’ll do time like I want to
Living in the zoo
Nice pipes, cool stripes
You can go ahead and leave the crying to
All the ones you see
Standing round here looking at me
Yeah you’re all gonna cry all day
Yeah you’re all gonna miss me
Big ones little ones
Walkers strollers
Well that one right there
I’d pick her up and throw her
If they’d let me out
But hell no, not me
Not gonna lay around and pout
Cause you’re all gonna cry all day
When there’s nothing you can do or say
When I take the birds and the bees
You are gonna miss me
You’re gonna miss me
